Being Lazy is not a bad thing. Take pride in being a bum.

It’s something I’m good at. It’s a passion of mine. Can I get paid for it?

I realized this weekend that I actually have a gift for being a bum. I can do it really well. Only leaving my apartment twice this weekend, spending inordinate amounts of time in front of my TV, ordering Seamless for all meals and only bathing once really proved it to myself. I stayed in my apartment for 16 hours on two separate occasions. Can I get some kudos?

In the hustle and bustle of New York City, where I reside (if you guys don’t know that, then it means I have readers outside of immediate friends and family…hooray!), it’s a rat race. Everyone wants to be moving around and make big things happen, even in their free time.

I however really enjoy keeping that free time, free. Free to be a sloth if I so choose or actually be productive. If you want to be useless and have no will to move, then do it. I would be a heck of a hypocrite if I were to look down upon you for sitting on your keister for a full day.

I’ll wrap this up. Embrace your laziness, it’s not a bad thing. Just don’t drink too much alone while being a “bum.” People will worry about you. I’ll worry about.
